Importance of Social Media

Social media refers to the means by which individuals connect in virtual communities and networks by creating, sharing, and/or exchanging information and ideas. Social media allows you to not only hear but also reply to what others have to say about you. First, listen and then speak.
As time passes by, social media has become a tool for families to connect with their relatives who are far away from them especially now that we are in the middle of a pandemic. In addition, social media helps social workers and the government in disseminating information during this pandemic such as the new cases recorded in a day, recovered patients, and what’s happening in general during the pandemic.
During the older generations, social media has not been developed, thus, in their case, handwritten letters are their way in communicating and printed magazines and newspapers are their mode of gathering information.
Today, it has been very important that we have now social media such as Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, etc. In that way, we are now able to updated to calamities and especially now that there is a pandemic going on for over a year. Social media has been a big help in order for us to get ready in times of calamities and be aware of the new cases in times of the pandemic.
